What is South Pacific Adventure?
South Pacific Adventure is a concept from a small internet based company called
Out Wide Marketing; it has a simple business plan. Over the past few months we have been
working in conjunction with Tourism NZ to develop a way to increase international exposure
for the smaller NZ owned and operated companies specifically operating within the
adventure tourism market.
The intention of South Pacific Adventure is to create exposure without the costly advertising
campaigns. This will be done by combining forces to advertise your businesses in
conjunction with others to the international market. For example, currently there are 16
different adventure categories (salt water fishing, diving, skiing, hiking etc) - this has grown
from 12 categories in less than 4 months due to your demand!
South Pacific Adventures is a hub website. It will contain a large amount of information,
photos etc on you, the environment and what to expect from New Zealand. Anything that can
be searched by tourists and visitors to this great part of the world, this will ensure that
SouthPacificAdventure.com will quickly be recognized and rise through the ranks of Google.
Think of it like a front door to New Zealand adventure tourism.
By creating and maintaining a large website for New Zealand adventure tourism companies
the internet footprint will be much larger than one company. This will also mean that
SouthPacificAdvetures.com‟s international reach is far beyond one company‟s ability.
Remember, if you‟re a marlin fishing charter company on the internet you‟re also competing
on the internet with boats in Florida or Hawaii, it‟s not just within New Zealand – we are quite
literally a small fish in a big pond. However, with support from you we will be able to actively
target potential clients in America, Asia, and Europe.
Why the internet?
- In the past 5 years, increased internet access, the introduction of broadband and the
growth of e-commerce means more and more tourists are looking online for actives and
experiences. . .
- It is recognised that across the globe the most common tool for researching holidays to
New Zealand is - the internet!
A 2008 Tourism NZ survey identified the following as important factors to online
marketing.
- Making the booking experience simple and painless was found to be the primary driver of
satisfaction.
- A booking experience was described as “easy” when all the necessary information was
clear, understandable, fast to retrieve, and aided simple decision making.
- “Easy” payment channels are secure, reliable and use a consistent payment platform.
- Energy and excitement are high during the planning and information gathering process.
- Travelers prefer channels that help them maintain that level of excitement
Still not sold on the concept?
There are two final two things that should convince you this is a good idea to get involved
with.
1.) We will be keeping geographical boundaries in place to ensure that none of your direct
competitors are able to participate AND,
2.) Thanks to the involvement of Tourism NZ for the first 12 months the project it won‟t cost
anything to be involved! That‟s right no commitment and I just said that magic word – it‟s
FREE!
The future:
we can‟t say too much but in addition to the website, there are plans to roll out a number of
different strategies over the next 12 months that will directly benefit you. However until then
you need to have patience everything will all be outlined later in email reports.
